just a quick one, i've got my new m-board sat in front of me and have just taken my cpu and heatsink off the old motherboard. Now the old thermal paste that is on the cpu and heatsink (which has only been on a week mind and not had the computer turned on) is it okay for me to use it again and put the bits straight back onto the new motherboard?

Technically, probably yes. But if you do have access to any new thermal paste, i'd be inclined to clean both the heatsink and the processor and reapply new paste.

Umm, why don't go to the store and buy some acetone or isopropyl alcohol?

Check the cupboards for something like goo gone. All you need is a good solvent that won't leave a residue.
