Thermal Readings

Hi All,
Just completed my first new build 2 weeks ago, and was wondering what a nice temperature is for my unclocked AM2 cpu with stock cooler, as, on the first day of use, at idle, the cpu was at 38 C, mobo temp 26 C. Several days later the temperature at idle was 48 C - 50 C still unclocked, mobo temp 34 C.
Any thoughts on this please ?

Sorry for the delay,
This is my first 'Beast Rig' and I dont know how to get it to full load (will 3d Mark08 do ?)
I've been playing Oblivion/CoD 4 on maxxed settings and the CPU/GPU fans never spin up above idle (48/78 fps with fraps in Great Forest/Outdoors).
Temperatures come from ASUS PC Probe 2 which I presume is the on-core readings.

Run Orthos or Prime 95 to test @ full load, download Core Temp and HW monitor just to double check temps.
Not sure if Real Temp works on AMD cpu's.

CONFUSED !

For cpu temps -

PC Probe 2 shows 48C
CORE TEMP shows 35C
HWMonitor shows 35C (under processor heading but under the motherboard heading it's 48C)
hElP ?

CoreTemp is the one you should trust. PC Probe is wildy inaccurate and pretty useless full stop really :D

HeavyLoad is great for bumping up the load

CoreTemp is the one I use and it seems about right for my laptop - 20C above ambient idle and 40-50C above ambient load (where cut off is 60C above ambient and the heatsink is a dust magnet)

Full load temp peaked @ 42C (taken during the hottest part of the day)
Idle dropped to 35C
Temps taken from Coretemp/HWMonitor

Are these temperatures OK ?
