I tried to remove a defective DVD drive last week using the screw less system in the case, the drive would not come free. This was because the slots were jammed in place. I had to use excessive force to remove the drive. I certainly didn’t use excessive for to install it.

I also find that the drives have a 5mm gap between the drives and the case slots and the drive cannot be fitted in properly.

I had to physically destroy one drives to get it out.

I have followed all the manufactures instruction, plus I have one of these cases before with the same screw less system and I didn’t have this problem. This system is designed for ease of use and it is clearly not. I’m reluctant to place my other drive in just in case I can’t get it out! My other DVd drive installs easy and removes easily, so i dont understand?

Has anybody else had simular problems?

I found the biggest problem with these is the drive sliders. Make sure that you have them fitted the correct side of the device you are intending to install. Also when having problems removing try a little Petrollium Jelly, It works a treat on the rails.
