Thermal Tape?

For fitting heatsinks to RAM and VRMs is thermal tape any good.

It's obviously very quick, simple, unlikely to do damage when fitting and is not permament.

Negative comments I've heard is that they can fall off and the thermal properties are pretty poor.

Thermal adhesive obviously has better thermal properties but it also has disadvantages - need to take care and work quickly when applying. Pretty much permament.

What I can't figure is how much better adhesive is in real terms.

Any experiences or views?

Cheers,

Nigel

Personally I just use Akasa thermal tape, it's dirt cheap and always seems to do the job.
