Just installed one of these on my Asus z690 Prime and I91300K.
Everyone with a 12th or 13th gen Intel system should just buy one - I cant believe how crap it makes the horrible bendy spring loaded mechanism of Intel boards look!
Temperatures dropped 6 deg immediately!
Don't be put off by some of the installation videos out there that seem to make the process really complicated. Its so easy and just tighten the four screws in a cross pattern until they feel snug but not forced and that's it. All boards should use this method and ditch the spring loaded nonsense!
 
I tried one, but unless 100% perfectly put on can reduce Ram overclocking potential. So technically its one trade off for another
 
Have the Thermal Grizzly one, my 240mm AIO now keeps the 13700KF in check with two Noctua 15mm fans. Without the contact frame, the CPU simply would not work in my Formd T1.

Interesting, why would it cause issues? Its just the same mounting as the Intel mechanism - in fact it seems to put less stress on the board than the spring lever?

A number of usesr in a different group have reported similar results in lower Ram overclocking potential, including myself.
Here is my tin foil hat theory on it though. Sometimes over tightening the cooler can affect the ram modules and loosening the cpu cooler sorts the issue out. This would imply the cpu cooler itself is exerting too much pressure on the CPU.
By default most CPU coolers are designed to be convex to match the concave characteristics the stock IHS has, whether this is due to the stock ILM concaving it or during the manufacturing process of the IHS Im not sure.

If the stock ILM does exaggerate the CPU's IHS Concave and the cooler is designed to match this then adding a contact frame on top which is meant to make it flatter and more even will mean the cooler is now exerting too much pressure to the centre of the IHS. Most people are reporting including myself that with the contact frame on the IHS, the cooler is predominantly focusing its contact on the centre of the CPU which could cause the RAM instability.

The conclusion therefore would be to buy a flat cooler design for lapped IHS, Lap your IHS and then use the contact frame for best results.This theory could be totally wrong and could all be down to the tightening of the contact frame, but there is definitely something going on and for now my contact frame is shelved as higher and tighter memory OC is better imo
