Thermalright Archon

I got another Ty-14 fan for push pull will be posting results and comparing with AS5 IC diamond 24 and mx3 this weekend.

Well once you got it on it's great it has same mounting system as the venomous x.

So same quibbles really mainly getting anti vibration strips to stick (going to stick to fan with superglue) the fan clips are virtually impossible to fit in with the board in the case.

Mounting without too much heatsink movement is tricky too and that can mess up the paste spread but that could be said of a lot of cooler I guess. It's certainly a lot easier and better than the tuniq tower it replaced.

All in all it's great cant complain it's built to do the job with no fuss or frills.

The ty-14 fans are fantastic although there isn't any corners like on a normal fan where you can fit the triangular shaped rubber adhesive pads in the corners so you have to use the included strips but alas they don't hold need superglue really.

And the included ty-14 is a bluey shade of grey and the ones you buy are a more beigey shade of grey I expected the fan I bought to be the exact same colour.

I've found it pays to fit the heatsink to the board and then fit the board in the case. Makes everything especially fitting the fans so so much easier!

Yes I have always done it that way with previous coolers too.

makes me laugh when people make a big deal out of motherboard tray cpu cut outs when it's 100x easier to fit on the board outside the case.

Cant be bothered to do it until tomorrow takes me about 45 mins per change paste remount etc in an ft01.

Not to mention even if you have a removable motherboard tray the cooler won't clear the corner support strut, meaning you have to to install it in with the tray fitted in the case anyways lol.

Not as tricky as a tuniq tower depends what you compare it to.
It uses the same mounting system as the venomous X.

It's not tricky at all when you mount the fans on the board outside the case.
It's tricky if you want to get fans on with board in the case or adjust the pressure.
