Hi Guys...

Just a quick question, going to be fitting my new cpu today and purchased a tube of the above, looking on thermalrights website...it says to apply chill factor to cpu die and then to the bottom of the heatsink base, then to spread evenly with a card.....my question do i also spread it evenly over the heatsink base and leave it on? or smear it over with my finger with a piece of clingfilm then wipe it off?

Thanks in advance.

Most people just put a small grain of rice sized blob in the center of the cpu IHS...

Personally i normally spread it evenly...But it's normally ok to just let the compound move out towards the edges by itself.

Long as you have a nice thin layer all over the cpu IHS so that its almost see through everything should be cool. If your worried just keep an eye on temps for a while. :)

Thanks for the replies,

Think i may have to re fit it again....getting temps in TAT of 62c and thats when running spybot...everything at stock...not sure if it's because quad cores run a lot hotter..just thought it would have been lower than that...
