Hi All,

I’m thinking about using the Thermalright HR-03-GT on a 8800gt. The heatsink certainly looks the part, but I haven’t heard any stories regarding its effectiveness one way or the other. Does it help overclock the 8800gt very much, or does the 8800gt get voltage limited before it throttles due to heat? In terms of the fan I’ll probably go with a Akasa Amber as you can’t really go wrong with them.

Any insight would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Uncle.

I put the same model but for the GTX obvioulsly on my GTX and it made a massive difference to temperatures. I was getting crashes, I assume from overheating cause when I put the new heatsink on it was fine.

The HR03 GT will be good.

The AC acceleroS1 will be cheaper and probably just as good.

Either could probably passively cool much better than stock cooler in a case with reasonable airflow. Stick a slow fan on either and even better.
