Hi All,

(Hoping this is in the correct Forum Topic).

I have recently purchased a Gigabyte X99-SLI Socket 2011-3 Motherboard and I have a Thermalright IFX-14 CPU Cooler.

Any idea where I can get a Bracket to fit this? Reallly don't want to get a new CPU Cooler as I like this one!

Thanks in advance

It might be a case of needing a set of screws. I had to get a new set for my alpenfohn k2. X99 2011 v3 boards come with a backplate already fitted, however on my board the screw threads on the set i had werent compatible, hence the new set. 2011 v3 has the same hole spacing as 1366 x58 which your current bracket might fit.

Thanks for the advice setter but I have tried the IFX-14 with the Motherboard backplate and with the IFX-14 one from before, but it's a no-go.

Just don't know which Thermalright bracket to try on this Motherboard?

Tried mailing thermalright support? Had a quick google regarding compatibility but couldnt find anything definitive. Hopefully theres a fix available for you as it's still a great cooler and will easily handle a 5820k.

I don't understand. Have you tried to use the 2011 barrel studs on the motherboard, than mount the square top mount on them, then set cooler on and mount crossbar?

You probably won't be able to use the HR-10 back cooler, but IFX-14 should work.

@Doyll - Yes tried that, just slightly incorrect size.

I'll email Thermalright and see what I get back.

Thanks
What is your present mount designed to fit?

To the best of my knowledge almost all Thernmalright coolers are either thick or thin based. AThe original coolers had thick bases and used the same mounting kits. Some of the newer cooler bases are thinner and use a similar base. There are a few exceptions like the new Macho Direct, Macho 120, TRUE 120, AXP-100 Muscle, etc that are not bolt through mounts. While I have not used an IFX-14, I do have an original Cogage Arrow. It uses the same mount as my newer thick based Silver Arrow and other thick based coolers. LGA 2011 and LGA 1366 both have 80mm mount spacing. The difference is the 2011 has built in backing plate requireing barrel spacers with studs to screw into built in backing plate, while 1366 uses backing plate and screws into tapped barrel spacers on front side of motherboard. .

Iirc the op's system before sig update was an x48 s775 build. Did thermalright offer a universal mounting system for that cooler, I remember for my TRUE coolers I had to purchase 1366 bolt kits for my x58 systems. On X99 all that is usually required us the screws and the bracket that clamps the cooler in place, backplate comes on the board from the factory.

Thanks for the detail guys, will it help if I take pics of what I have got? Or do I have to try and get my hands on the TRUE BTK that I linked previously?

Do you have any accurate measuring equipment? Like a digital caliper or similar?

Even a ruler will measure the mounting top plate, the square piece. If it has two holes in each corner, what is the distance between them on one side of the plate? Center to center should be 72.25mm and 80mm is there are 2 holes in each corner.

Sorry for the lack of response on this - I have swapped the Cooler for a Phantecs, as I couldn't get my hands on the required adapter.

Thanks
