Thermalright Silver Arrow + 3Fans?

Hi All

I'm about to order one of these coolers and wondered if anyone knew if adding a 3rd fan was possible and if it would make any noticeable difference?

Can't remember where i read it, but a trusted reviewer stated that a 3rd fan made approx 0.5c difference. I would just use the 2x140mm pwm fans that come with it as they are very good (you may want to look at the akasa pwm splitter if your motherboard only has 1 pwm fan header) and if you haven't already get some better thermal paste if you want if even better temps i.e ic diamond.
buts that just my 2 pennies

. Just use the two fans as suggested above. The thermal paste is also very good so overall the Silver Arrow is a very good package out of the box.

Rare to see a cooler that does come with fans these days too (especially such good fans), so the Silver Arrow would definitely be my cooler of choice if I were looking to upgrade my Ultra120eXtreme

I have 3 fans, as I just bought another one as backup for only £6. I haven't got any clips.. but yeah Helios reviewed it with 3 fans but its not worth the hassle of 1-2c IMO.

Great cooler and better than the Noctua.

Mines fitted with just the 2 x 140mm fans and that's all you really need
