So I'm starting my first build, and I encountered a problem with this heatsink, it has two fans and I only have one cpu fan 4 pin connector on my mobo although there is another 4 pin called CHA_FAN1, do I need some kind of splitter or can I just use CHA_FAN1 slot?

I used a pwm fan splitter as I only had the one spare fan_header on mobo due to case fans using the rest. I also had to move the location of the fans due to the height of my RAM. On the image above, I have 1 fan in the middle and one where the I/O ports are.

Yeah thanks, I think I'm gonna use the 1 fan until I get the splitter. Atm, I'm having issues with the most simplest thing and that's plugging in the 24 pin connector as apparently when I run it through the back of the case the angle I have to plug it in is so awkward and the 4 pin adapter keeps coming loose as I'm trying to push it in ^_^. Actually took a tea break after 20 minutes of trying, heh.

You can still use the fan on a 3 pin header. The downside is that you lose PWM functionality but the fan is quiet even at full speed.
