Thinking about picking up one of these V-1 Ultras when they come back into stock here.

I've read a few reviews, and they all seem to say that the cooler inteferes with components on the motherboard, or with the CPU's heatsink.

Would I have any issues with this cooler when used with an NF7-S?

Failing this cooler, would the VF700 or AC NV5 be a better alternative?

Thanks :)

Ordered a Zalman FS-V7 Fatal1ty today, which will be here tomorrow. I was gonna go for the 700, but it has a slower fan, I'd rather a cooler running card, even if I have to put up with a red heatsink. The 700 copper looks lovely :(

Ordered a Vantec Spectrum FanCard too, although I've read that it can be a little loud, its better than nothing.

Oh and a 120mmx38mm Ys-Tech for the front of my case, on a fanbus of course!

My 6800GT with stock cooling hit 90c last night, it was horrible watching it! (With AtiTool)

Ooooo, idling at 44c atm, was nearer 60c with stock cooler...impressed so far :D

62c when running ATItool's "3D View" for 30 mins or so, stock cooler was hitting 92c while doing the same thing!

Seems to be idling at 48c now, although I'm not sure if thats because I just installed the Vantec Spectrum, and it's having a negative effect,or because I didn't wait long enough to get an accurate idle temp (or I'm not waiting long enough for it to cool back to idle, heh)

How are those temps for an AGP 6800GT running at stock speeds? I used AS5, so the temps should drop by a degree or too within a day or so I guess :)

The Fatl1ty wont be able to cool any more efficiently over the standard VF700 as far as I am aware it is just louder and you have to put up with having an obnoxious named component in your system ;).

But, they are great coolers. Try putting some AS5 on there. I have an X800XTPE which Idles at 29c load never exeeds 50c. Amazing cooler.

Ah well, well it already installed. I don't care about the name really, I just want my card to be cool, not idling at 60 odd c like it was before!

61-62 its at now running ATItool, it idled hotter than that before, madness! I do really like this cooler, but I like the look of the VF700 more, as it looks like copper, whereas this just looks red, but it had the faster fan, and has shown that it does cool a few degrees more, so I went for that.

I used AS5, I said I did in my last post, guess ya must have missed it :)

I might overkill my 9800Pro with a VF700, although it doesn't sound financially worth it, just to have both coolers :D

I'd like a Zalman for my CPU, but the nice socketA ones they got dont fit an NF7-S :(
