Lo all

I'm looking at a replacement case, and the Armour/Kandalf look cool, but after looking at different reviews, on one of the pictures it looks as though the drive bay covers have plastic surround on, is this just the picture?
If it has got any plastic bits on, is the CM Praetorian 732/730 a good case to get?

Cheers

Hi, i have the aluminium Armour and it is an excellent case. Loads of room to work in and superb cooling. The font of the case is plastic but thats not a problem. All the drive bay blanking plates have steel mesh on them with filters behind that, which obviously is a good idea on a case with loads of fans.

Lo all

thanks for your comments etc
Now comes the tricky part, i Like the Armour look, design etc, but unsure about the seemingly useless wings, also I have a dog that likes to hit things randomly. The wings look as though they can delfect any angled blows, but nothing straight on.
With the other alternative, there is the Praetorian, although not as fancy as the armour, it looks the part and more importantly, has a beefy door on it to protect from random dog attacks. :)
The bit I noticed about this is the fan duct, is it removeable as with my current setup I have a vapochillmicro, and being a beasty cooler, no doubt it would clobber the vent. Is there any way to remove this or am I going to have to go with the Armour, or if I can pull enough money together, the Kandalf.

Cheers

Hi again, the "wings" are made of pretty thick aluminium and are probably the heaviest and toughest part of the case. They are fixed on by brackets at the top and bottom which clamp on to a solid steel pin embedded in the fascia. I would think it highly unlikely that they would be easily broken off. As for taking a hit head on, there is more to them than it seems. They have an inner wing type support that on the inside of the wings come to about half way and have pads on them which, when closed, rest against the fascia so giving it more strength. This is why in the pictures you see the wings do not close all the way. You can however easily remove them, which takes a screwdriver and a couple of minutes.

Alternatively, Ban the dog! :D

I could ban the dog, but she makes a damn nice footwarmer when the heating is off and I cba to go and turn it on :D. I think I'll shuffle some funds around and see if I can get enough for the armour.

Cheers again for all the help
