Thermaltake Big Typhoon - Problem with Size

Zalman Reserator 1+ for the win!

Quietest cooler I have owned by far :p

you cheat!!! :D hehe, I used to love my watercooling - had 2 fans and was bliss.

I used to have an 80mm Evercool fan in my Sparkle 400W PSU @ 5V and a steel papst 120mm mains powered fan at 4.5V on my radiator (was only an Axia t'bird :p)

Oh and a submerged Eheim 1250 on foam, couldnt hear that

AXIA Thunderbird!

Wow I ain't heard them mentioned for ages, classics.

What my workgroup I connect my PC's with has been called, Thunderbird, since there introduction.

Classic good value processors, where AMD matured and finally beat Intel in the crucial area of public recognition.

What clocks you get out of her?

you know I can no longer remember lol - been sooo long ago hehe - they were awesome though as you say. I'm rather pleased I was amongst the pioneers of watercooling (well I like to think so hehe) at the time couldnt get anything decent in the UK or Europe, I had my waterblock hand made and imported from Cathar, I have number #053 of his Little River White Water, I bought an Eheim 1250 from a garden centre, my radiator was a heatercore matrix from my friends dads car shop, he stripped it out of an Astra for me iirc, my tubing was bought from thorite (along with my barbs) my fan from someone off OcUK :p my reservoir was a 15 litre toolbox hehe. I can't remember what I got with the Axia but my watercooling lasted my over to the XP2500-M also :p that was a nice CPU as well.

I'm spoiled now adays lol - we have IHS on our AMD CPU's, we have custom kits for watercooling, Opteron's where you get insane clocks pretty easily :p

way too loud for a cooler!!! seriously if you think it's good you should get a TT BT with a 120mm L1a Panaflo, you'll struggle to hear it after owning the Zalman :p

My friend has the 9500 and on low speed it is very loud, compared to my XP120 + Panaflo L1a

Lol, the thing with the zalman is the package and the compactability. It fits most sockets, easy to install and comes with a fan controller. I got it on minimum setting, its quiet and keeps my Venice (2.4ghz) at 30C idle.

I had a Duron 800 running at 1003mhz with my delta and heatsink ducting, was stable 90% of the time.

As far as I know I must have been in the first wave of people to break the 1ghz barrier, as when the 800 came out the 900 Athlon was the fastest. Got my release day, 2 days later she was a 1ghz CPU :D

Its a real shame the duron was a proper budget class processor though :p

Sweet :) I get m old 700 Duron in a few weeks time off my ex :p on a KT7 hehe, will be awesome for a hardware firewall :)

Why as a hardware firewall, overclock it till it dies!

Wow, im surprised that board is still working, a year or two back they all seemed to be dying of a common fault.

Well I took it all apart and used the rubber gasket and it worked so it was shorting it out. But I don't think it’s tightened properly as I got 51C under load with hardware all at stock. So it is not right yet, but it’s late and I am retiring for tonight. What does yours get on prime 95 on stock and does yours vibrate like **** and cause your side window fan to vibrate?

Nah - I did the job right ;)

If you look at the P4 775 installation instructions it comes with a bit of damping foam that sits under the motherboard and a mylar shield to stop it shorting out. I am also a bit anal about trashing the motherboard (not the CPU, that sits in a little steel case) so I used a small torque wrench to tighten everything down evenly.

Funny enough I didn't pay attention to the P4 instructions, I followed the K8 instructions as one would think as being correct. You’re a bit anal about what?
