Im planning my fan purchase and decided to do double 480mm rads in push-pull and aim for an ultra quiet setup. I am buying 16 pwm fans and would like to run them all off. Single pwm header & pcb controller.
The thermaltake can supply power to 10 and the design works really well with my wiring so my question is, does anyone happen to own one/know if i can run a 1 pwm to 2 fans splitter cable on this to potentially give 20 fans, although i will be limited to 16? Pcb looks to simply share the sata power to the headers & split the pwm signal between them all so concerned aboit the pwm signal over so many cables degrading to ****e.
Tvm in advance.

I have tried Push/Pull, Push, Pull and found with Push/Pull you might get only about 2'c differance to Push or Pull.

Push/Pull is the most noisy as it creates more air turbulence through the radiator compared to Push or Pull and Pull being the most quiet.

Also design of the radiator and fan speed also are noise factors as well.

Have a look at this PWM cable- Akasa FLEXA FP5S 5 Fan PWM Controller you would just need two of these plus one Fan Cable Y-Splitter 2-Fan PWM-

Thanks for the reply Oldphart :)

Interesting on the push&pull being the most noisy: id very much expect that at full speed, however im aiming for ~500rpm speed and felt that the airflow would be more difficult at that speed, resulting in a faster & noiser rpm being needed to overcome the resistance. Hence the push&pull conclusion. With your experience, did you experiment with low rpm & cooling results?

Hi, l'm had one of these handy a 4pin molex giving 2x12V[3 pin] and 2x5V[3 pin] connectors for 4x140mm 1000rpm fans in pull on the rad.

Using 2x12Vgives Full rpm l can just hear the fans, temps CPU 5820K:4.4 54'C/GPU:980TI Poseidon at stock 54'c to 56'c with 2x5V about 460rpm quiet, temps CPU 5820K:4.4 60'C/GPU:980TI Poseidon at stock 60'c to 62'c playing BF4 64 manserver.

You could also consider using a Fan Controller- https://www.overclockers.co.uk/air-cooling/fans/fan-controllers
