Got a manual timer thats twists with blue "teeth" that can be in or out so to speak. Has a clock in the middle too and what looks like an on/off control.

Now up until today we havent used the heating but the mrs was moaning last night so anyone got any clue how these old manual timers work?! :D

Teeth in= Heating on. The whole thing turns- Twiddle round it to set the time (Should be current at the top, 12 o'clock position)
The switch should have 3 positions- Top= Off, Middle= Heating on as per timer & Bottom= Heating on permanantly.

Edit: At least thats how it works on a Worscter/ Bosch boiler, other makes may be different- I'm not responsible for you're plumbers :p
