***UPDATE***
while on my trip to the states i decided to invest in a pair of Shure e4c's, however i learnt that they were making a replacement suited for music which were called the Shure SE310's.
Once they arrived i plugged them into my ipod shuffle, i went straight to Muse, Citizen Erased. They sounded really different to my Sony ones. At first i couldnt get used to it but that was because i didnt know how to insert them into my ear correctly.
They came with the foam tips already on there, so i read the manual through again and realised where i was going wrong. i squeezed the ends and inserted into my ear and let them expand to create a seal.
Then i noticed the bass and quality of the song!!!
Was very impressed.
I started to get a bit uncomfortable with them in so i decided to try the different buds that were sent. However i couldnt get the original bud off! it was really hard and i was scared that if i was a bit to forceful then i would break them, i managed to get them off in the end and it was very very easy! Just hold at the tip, twist and pull.
I tried the others but found the original ones were best, so i thought i would let my ears get used to the shape of them.
The noise cancelling is amazing i could barely hear a thing outside, remember i was walking in america where they all drive loud v8s and v6s. i could just hear a very faint rumble from someone who was flooring it.
On the 10 hour flight back i could hear the rumble of the plane, not very loudly though! My music stopped most of the noise.
i used them for the in flight movies and i only needed to turn the volume up a bit, where as my bro had to turn his up 3/4 of the way up!
Build quality is really really good, not as delicate as i expected them to be. I am trying to take really good care of them as i want them to last a while
Hope my mini disjointed review was good. i would recommend people to get these as they are amazing.

(how do you get custom made ear buds?)
