OK I have via MSI Afterburner set my 290 as follows. Power +50, Core Clock 1150, Memory Clock 1400.

Not sure what to set the Core Voltage at though as I dont really know what I'm doing lol

Leave Vcore as is if you're happy with the clocks and it's stable. If wanting to go higher, add voltage to suit if needed. Just make sure your temps are in check. Set up a custom fan curve with AB if you're wanting the card running cooler.

OK lol....I should have said I don't know what I'm doing when it comes to the Core Voltage , as in do I make it higher or lower ...or leave it as it is :)

If you can go lower and still maintain stability then do that, I have gone down -30 on my 295 x2 and it certainly helps to keep it a bit cooler but still with a little overclock.

OK so I set the Core Clock to 1150 but I had some freezing .....so I suppose I might want to up the Core Voltage ...but by how much I'm unsure .....any ideas please ?

Notch it up in +5 increments until you are stable (test each time ofc). I tend to eyeball it with a quick heaven run. If it goes through Heaven okay then I play a demanding game for a while to shake it out a bit more. If you never get stable then you need to back the clock off a bit until you are. Once you are stable you can fine tune the volts.

Most helpful post so far! Instead of "leave alone if your not sure"...

Yea increase core voltage by +5mV until your system appears stable. Such as no freezing or any sort of stability issues.

So if your core clock is 1150mhz and you've had freezes up +5 mV and test in demanding games or any games you play regularly and see if it happens again. If you don't then its stable enough!
