My mate in holland has just built a PC.
Pentium D 940 ( 3.2GB)
Asus P5N32-Deluxe sli
antec P180 case
stock intel cooler

the problem is he is getting stupidly low temperatures
its idle at 17-18C (even after a few hours)
im trying to find load temps out now.

heres a screenie:
pcprobehardware2ht.jpg

but ive seen it at 17 in the bios via webcam too.

it just seems TOO low ?

yea same in the bios

my brothers PC reaches minimum of 35C idle and thats a 3.0 pentium D with an AC freezer 7 pro

i was thinking it could be a faulty sensor... but is that to do with the CPU or the mobo ?

ive had a brief talk with my mate again, and he says ( with a bit of a flakey dutch translation) that his bios recognises 3 CPU cores, 1 of which is just 0 Mhz, and apparently the 2nd core is running as the primary, and the fiorst core is running as secondary. ofcourse the temperature monitor on and intel CPU is in the 1st core. but that still doesnt explain the sub room temperature figures.

Sounds like he's reading a non-present chassis fan.
what do you mean ?
even if it was... 18C will be under his room temperature so theres deffo somehting wrong.

is the problem with the CPU or the mainboard ?
