Hi there.

Has anyone got the Z10's, and what do you think of them?

I previously has my Logitech Z5500's on my PC, they are now on the TV as my Z10's are on my PC now, and all I can say is wow, the sound quality is so much better than my Z5500, I cant explain it proberbly, but I was just listning to Madonna - Vouge, and it was amazing, with my Z5500 speakers, I thought you could not tell were the sounds coming from, but after listning to these, I'm amazed, now with the Z5500's you know most of the sound was coming from the front of you, but with this, I could hear the singing from the front, and the actual instruments coming from the side, it was kind of wrapping you in the sound and giving a full soundstage, this may not be amazing to allot of you, but it's new to me :p, dont know if its all due to the tweeters or what, but I'm amazed, time to do a Video review on these and give them 8 out of 10 :D

Cool :) I'm interested in getting these and I'm glad you like them. How is running, are you connected by USB? Or can you use the line out off your soundcard alternatively? And roughly how big are they height wise?

Hi.

Yea i'm connected using USB, so if you want to use the sound card you need to disconnect the USB, I wish that did not have to be done though.

I havent tried the 3.5mm jack yet.

For the size of them, here is a picture (The monitor is a 19" Widescreen):

mine should be arriving in the next couple of days, and omg! they're huge, i was expecting something much smaller! The pics on ocuk really don't do them justice size wise :D

Aye they are preety big :p.

I have my Z5500's on standby because on VERY bassy songs they crackle allot, but I have the bass on full, I also notice lots of crackling usually, dont think its a problem with the speakers, more with my PC or maybe a dirt USB connection, other than that, I rekon they can sound as good as a pair of bookshelves just not with as much bass, they would be awsome if they were sold with a small 8" sub though, certainly would be one of the best 2.1 PC speakers on the market if they came with a sub :).

should have spent the money on a higher chair tbh :D

Got a set of these myself just yesterday, very impressed so far. Good sound quality, the LCD is surprisingly useful, and it's nice that it uses the Windows volume so there's only one volume control to mess with. Also means that if I change the volume using my keyboard shortcut keys, it shows it on the display.

Only annoying thing is that I'm getting still getting occasional stuttering when listening to music. This isn't any fault of the Z-10s though, but I thought they'd have solved the problem because they bypass the soundcard. Turns out it could be a storage driver issue though.

Really nice speakers though, and yep, they're big!

Yea, the thing I was quite amazed at is the abaility these speakers have to really thump at high volume, the bass is awsome for the size. But the crackling is abit annoying, I even connected them to my Z5500 through headphone jack and you could hear distortion through the Z5500's too, dunno why its happening, maybe something to do with the USB ports :s

Eurgh a bass whore

I'm quite glad to be rid of the dedicated sub-woofer, personally. It added some nice punch on some songs and games, but it was always turned right down anyway. For when I'm sat up late and night and don't want to disturb my housemates, the Z-10s are far better. I've also got more room under my desk now too. :)

The Z10's seem to deliver a balanced level of bass, enough for most songs at all level, it's made me notice how overpowering my Z5500 is :p

Any thoughts on comparison with Aego M's? They're meant to be brilliant right? Similar price too...

Well the Aego M's will have more bass as it has a sub, it'll have just as good sound quality.

Sorry for resurrecting this old thread. Just had my Z5500's snuff it, but was planning to move to 2.1 or even 2.0 anyway to save on clutter.

Was going for the Cinema Z's but seem very pricey for what you get. And I like the idea of no sub. Not a bass head, will be used in bedroom..40% gaming, 30% watching divx and dvd (mainly divx) and rest listening to MP3's. Gaming will be done at night on headphones (Senny 595's).

Anyone on this thread still have the Z10's. ?

Are the crackling issues sorted which people reported ?

I have my mouse, keyboard, wifi dongle, and card reader on 2707 LCD plugged into back of PC. Could this somehow cause issues ?

Also, can you have your X-Fi sound card enabled and your Z10's enabled at same time (over usb), but obviously only 1 selected as default sound device. Would be nice, as would like to have headphones plugged into front speaker outputs so can get benefit of CMS3D when gaming. And when not using phones, disable them and use Z10's. Or does the Z10's force the audio card off permananetly ?

thanks
