Team PPD has been all over the place this week, but showing a slight gain on last week.
Mr.B and the Borgs breaking the highest ppd record again (2322) :cool:

Just 14 active crunchers this week and no new members, but on the plus side
WE'RE AT No.11 :D

Good to see some green in the table (and most red ppd losses are small)
Sorry for the late news but I thought our new top dog deserved an extra day stats grab.

Halz's table also has some extra data this week - Overtakes :) - so keep crunching and enjoy the stats :D

News from CSIRO - ASKAP Live

A new website feature makes it possible to take a 'bird's eye view' over the
Murchison Radio-astronomy Observatory (MRO) and see the construction

progress of CSIRO's ASKAP radio telescope.

ASKAP Live is an interactive map of the 36 antennas that will make up the Australian Square Kilometre Array Pathfinder (ASKAP). In addition to

showing the location of each antenna, ASKAP Live gives pictures and status reports on the construction of each antenna.

All 36 ASKAP antennas are being constructed at the MRO by their manufacturer, the 54th Research Institute of China Electronics Technology Group

Corporation (known as CETC54), with the assistance of CSIRO’s ASKAP team and local contractors.

The antennas are first built and tested in China by CETC54, with the antenna sections then disassembled and shipped to Australia. The antennas are

then reassembled on site at the MRO, approximately 315 kilometres north east of Geraldton in the Mid West region of Western Australia.

Once built, ASKAP will operate as part of CSIRO’s radio astronomy facility for use by Australian and international scientists.

As well as being a world-leading telescope in its own right, ASKAP will be an important test-bed for the Square Kilometre Array (SKA), a future

international radio telescope that will be the world’s largest and most sensitive.

Completion date - 2013.

Square Kilometre Array (SKA)

Group of 3000 Radio Antennas.

Construction start date 2015, completion - 2023

Will be 50 times the sensitivity of current radio telescopes.

Country to host the SKA to be decided in Feb 2012.

sorry for the lack for news been really ill after more work to my tooth.
And I'll be back at the dentist later tonight so the pain will most likely continue for some time :(
