TheVerge.com causing Chrome to crash?

Hi all,

I'm experiencing a very annoying issue with Chrome on Mac OSX Mavericks.

As soon as I try to visit the Verge website, Chrome becomes complete unresponsive and I have to force quit the browser.

I've tried uninstalling Chrome via AppZapper, including wiping all files left behind, but I have the same issue on a completely new install of Chrome.

Anyone experienced the same?

Nope, chrome is fine for me on the verge, did you have any other tabs open?

Nope, no other tabs or any other programs running.
