I was thinking that but having checked some reviews comparing 35 + 45 mm to 60mm 360 rads, a lot of them perform very similarly, with some of the thinner ones even edging ahead. A thinner 360 would still allow for more fan space than a 240.
The cooling capacity depends on the temperature delta between the air and water. With a thicker rad the air in the later depth of the rad will be warmer reducing the heat transfer at that stage. 60mm will still provide the best cooling (design aspects equal), so long as it is the maximum size that will fit in a particular space.
