Thick question as I know nothing (streaming)

Right I got a WD Live box which I use to stream old films/tv from my pc to my secondary tv (non smart) which has now started to lock up making it useless.

So my question will this NOW TV HD Smart TV Box do the job ?
Or do I need a different type ?
Bear in mind I ONLY need it to stream from my PC.
 
That or any of the cheaper Android boxes + the free download of the Kodi media player software.
 
I have got the Now TV box up and running with plex, but I have problem I hope someone can help with. When playing tv programs from my computer some of the 43-45min programs only play for 30-33mins then stop and say plex can't play this video please check it's on your server. These files are all the same type .mkv or .mp4 or .avi yet it plays episode 5 of something all the way and episode 6 does.
Please any one know what I'm doing wrong.
 
Iv'e just checked I have them all turned off.

bloody pain in the arse my wife is nagging cos she can't see all her fav programs.:eek:
 
Also, make sure you have the most up-to-date version of the plex app sideloaded, there was an issue with one of the earlier versions that would cause it to cut off the last few % of each affected video, which meant for short files eg tv shows it might miss the last couple of minutes and for long films the last several minutes, giving the same error message you mentioned.
