Thief benchmark problems

Using the benchmark on thief I am only getting 34 fps roughly... at 1440p everything turned up, vsync off, with crossfired 290s, an i5 3570k (stock clocks) and 8gb ram...

What is going on here? This is with the latest drivers... I did a fresh install and same thing....

I see some people getting results they should get and others saying the benchmark is broken. There was a thread in the steam forum saying the bench is broken... I agree because it doesn't matter if I lower the settings, the bench says I get 30-50 fps.
