A sunnier or damper area than Ron-ski....
Hi all,

Ok, I've got fed up with the rubbish photo frames on the market with their monthly fees, silly buggy software and limitations, so I built one myself out of a Samsung TV for our hall.

All works really nicely, so looking to build a few more around the house. Some spots need smaller frames, so I'm on the hunt for 24"-32" monitors or TVs that'd fit the bill.

Ideal is :
1) Needs to be thin as possible
2) If a monitor, it need to be mountable flat to the wall (ie no silly stand fixed to it)
3) ideally it'd be 4k

Can anyone recommend me a good model?
I 'think' it'll be a monitor at this size?

Thanks a bunch in advance!

Genius Benski! This is why I love this place!!!

This would be brilliant for various 13-15" table frames I've got about the place.

Still looking for the larger ones as you say - eg thinking either side of the bed above the bedside tables, so probably 24" min and 33" max.

Any other bright ideas? I thought they must make these monitors able to be flat to the wall??

I suppose the usual sort of thing would be a display used in shops/advertising/businesses. Those have been no frills square panels for ages so probably quite thin now.

And of course being a maker type you could also find a suitable monitor and strip it down into some kind of 3D printed enclosure if that helps! I'll have a poke around...
I know! That was my first thought actually, but they tend to be pretty commercially priced, lower resolution and large 'shop window' sized!

Bit of a hack job but people are doing it:

Yes, this is what I was just about to smash into when I thought I'd post - figured if I'm going to make a bunch, then manually stripping a bunch of monitors feels like a lot of extra effort. I don't actually need it to be THAT thin, most monitors these days are more than adequate, but often hard to tell from pictures if they can be wall mounted flat (ie with vesa fittings) as a few I've bought have silly stands permanently fixed.

I'd have thought pretty much all monitors would be designed to hang off monitor mounts/arms etc
