Hi there...before i start i'd just like to say i'm an almost total noob when it comes to linux etc :D

OK...my boss has asked me to look at a demo of a thin client computer. We've recently rolled out citrix and these computers will be handy for light users. They work great, the only problem being is that we can't get them to print.

The printers we will want to use with them are generally HP printers with dlink or HP print servers plugged in the back giving it an IP. They have LPD printing enabled.

The setup for the printers looks like this...

I've added + in the allowed hosts and tried various combinations for adding a network printer using the universal drivers but no luck.

Can anyone give me some pointers?

Thanks

We quite often have problems when it comes to citrix and printing, and I think my advice would be that you have to ensure that the printer drivers are installed on both the citrix box\farm and the client PC, exactly the same version for the same printers.

Or that may not be the problem at all....

Why do you need printer configuration on the thin-client? Set Citrix to print direct to the printer IP or the printer server queue if you have one.

Pass through printing via Citrix is ... erm ... unreliable and can be a right pain to get working at all even on a Windows client with the correct drivers.
