Does anyone make a laptop as thin, light and powerful as the 15" MacBook Pro with Retina? In my quest for a gaming laptop that's also portable, the main stumbling block seems to be the physical size of the damn things!

Thank you

Well I am using an HP m6-1035dx and it is ultraportable, (meaning under 5.5lbs) and it is not a technical gaming laptop, but it is a bang for the buck. The specs you are looking for are really hard to find because when searching for a laptop size and power are on opposite sides of the scale. This thing is able to run most games on medium settings and it is only $599. The newer version of this model is the m6-1105dx which has more storage and comes with Windows 8 (unfortunately). Best of luck to you.

This seems to be what everyone is looking for at the moment. Including myself!

Closest thing I can find in terms of looks and features is the Asus N56VZ.

The Sony S15 is also pretty close although not as powerful I don't think.

Any idea where you can get the Asus with the same graphics as the Mac

With the nvidia 650m? Don't think i'm allowed to link other sites but quite a few popular stores. Just Google that model and you'll find them. Prices should be around £800 - £900.

Thanks, but yikes, I didn't realise the Asus was so thick! Back to the drawing board :(.

Me as well, am leaning towards the MacBook Pro at the moment.
