things got stolen and it was hostels fault, what can i do?

i had my things in a locker in a hostel but then i moved rooms and kept my stuff in that locker , the locker was broken off by the hostel and things were stolen. didnt realise at the time as i looked in my front pocekt and my ipoid was still there so i assumed everything was alright. anything i can do aparrt from tell police , i kind of want the hostel to get into trouble for it

Is there some sort of disclaimer that states "the management are not responsible for items left in these lockers" or something like that?

How do you know it was the hostel that broke your locker off?

If I moved rooms the first thing I'd do is take all my stuff with me. Why on earth did you leave it behind?

Don't mean to be cynical but it sounds like you simply forgot, somebody broke into the locker and now you're trying to pin the blame onto somebody else.
