The day Dell were switching my monitor, I was just using one - being my secondary screen. Obviously without the other plugged in, it became default. Now that I've plugged the other monitor back in and set it as primary, Firefox and Thunderbird open on the wrong screen, the secondary.

I want them to open on the primary by default, any ideas? I've tried closing them from their current position and reopening, moving them using Ultramon "move to other monitor" then closing, but no luck...

Every other program seems to be fine!

can you not try using just the main monitor for a little time on it's own so that everything switches back in the same way?

Hmm, hadn't thought of that. I'll give that a go. It's not everything I want to switch back, stuff like WLM remembers its position...

Or make sure the windows aren't maximised then drag them to the correct screen, maximise them then close them.

Usually works for me.

Ta-da! Thankyou! Bug in Firefox or Windows?

EDIT: didn't work with Thunderbird though...

You should be able to set which is primary and secondary via the GPU control panel, at least you can with Nvidia cards.

It's set as primary monitor, but Firefox was wanting to open on whichever was connected to that output.
