Things people do to save money, but actually not

People are trying to save money by doing things which work out more expensive.

Could you name any examples? Friend decided to buy the supermarkets budget label washing up liquid and didn’t last a quarter of the time as a bottle of Fairy

Buy reusable bags. Repeatedly.

You are wasting about £120 a year. If buy 8 bags a week

Refusing to get a hotel in a convenient location because it’s more expensive than other options. Pick the cheaper hotel to save money.

Proceed to spend time and money getting to where you want to be.

^ this is something I never do, but my parents have just done it visiting Washington DC. Got an out of town hotel then have had to gets taxis to and from it. Whyyyyyy.

Booked flights and hotel for Prague. Was only £20 more for both me and ex over booking a package. Which was a coach journey and hotel which was 20km from central Prague.

That £20 gave us an extra day in Prague and a more centrally located hotel. Five minutes from Powder Tower
