* 4th or 5th gear - I can make progress in 1st, 2nd and 3rd but 4th and 5th seem to only work when going downhill, even then it's at a very slow rate.
* Volume 20-30 on the standard stereo - There's no notable increase in volume above setting 20, you do however get a bit more rattle from the speakers.
* Front tyres - I might as well be driving on the rims as the tyres give almost no grip. I do love a bit of understeer.
* A speedometer that reads beyond 90mph - I'm sure it'll go much faster but it just takes so damn long to get there that I fall asleep waiting.
* A rear view mirror - I decided that it would look better on the passenger seat so I knocked it off earlier, oops!
* A rear wiper - Turned it on, and it went round in clockwise circles. I'm sure Ford didn't design it like that so I think I'd better have a look at it sometime.
* Remote central locking - Pah, who needs it. I just love trying to find the lock in the dark when it's raining outside.

I've got to say however I'm loving that bangernomics thing. I can park *anywhere* and not give it a second thought. I think I'll go outside now and give it a good going over with the Porter Cable

Only joking :D :D :D

Slightly off topic eidolon, I now have my Porter Cable, 3x SFX pads, 3x spot pads but not sloppy stuff to apply with it ;) Well, other than Autoglym super Resin Polish and their ultra gloss stuff. What would you recommend?

The car needs a respray to get it spot on, but I guess I need something fairly agressive to get the last of the sanding marks off.

Have you tried the Poorboys SSR range? I tend to use SSR 2.5 to get rid of swirls (with a reasonably aggressive cutting pad) then drop down to SSR1 or Pro Polish (with a softer pad), that gets rid of all swirls in my experience. (you obviously need to protect it after that but it should get rid of the swirls)

How much are those Porter Cables?

I'm looking to get one soon, but heard you can only import them?

I got mine brought back from the US for me, also with a load of other kit which I sold to keep the cost right down. The cost depends on what accessories and pads you want with it.

Lol? What do you mean here? Does it make a full revolution? If so get a vid up ha ha ha - Maybe it's a special version that propels you? It might be the reason 4th and 5th gear isn't so good, put the rear wiper on! :D

:D

What you DO need, though, is a big sticker on the back saying 'My other car is a Lotus Elise' ;)

It bypasses the rear window altogether and just wipes the rear bumper. Was quite amusing to the people behind me the other day I'm sure :D

Actually I think I'll get one for the Elise that says "My other car is a Mondeo (and only an LX at that!)"
