OK, So I am taking my girlfriend out to Chester on Friday and I am wondering what we can do other than shop. I'm not looking at going into pubs to get steaming, all-though a nice watering hole would be nice because I fear it will be another scorching day.

I've only ever been Chester drinking or shopping so I have no idea what else we can do...ideas please...

There's a lucrative club in central Chester called the 'Camelot Club', it's full of rich lotto winners and playboys.

You could rent a boat or a pedalo and go on the river Dee or have a jaunt around the roman walls. Apart from that all else i can think of is look around the shops.

A walk round the walls is always good, a pint and a pub lunch in the Bear and Billet by Handbridge is a recommendation.

The zoo is excellent, you can easily spend a whole day there. City centre would be as already suggested, the walls and the river. Races are full of scousers in suits, avoid.

I was in Chester on Monday, went to the zoo, walked the walls, went along the river (?) (people had row boats and pedalos, we didnt have time) and had a meal at Hickory's.

It was a nice day, bit hot but can not complain.
