Things to do at work when you are bored?

Due to the nature of my job something I'm totally rushed off my feet and other time I can literally be at my desk for hours with little or nothing to do. So what does everyone else do when they are bored at work?

So far I generally just read the Motor forums, Facebook (but that gets boring after about 10 minutes), read the entire BBC website in search of knowledge and play Minesweeper online.

I'm pretty bored at the moment so what does everyone else get up to?
 
OCUK General Discussion forum usually does it for me, just join or start a thread to do with religion or something and choose a side.
 
Actually do some work! Use your initiative and see what is missing in the company.

Showing initiative and adding value will help you argue a payrise!

I use to work for an animation/digital film company as director/producer. My department is pretty much right below the supervisor/CEOs in the company. There are project gaps which last for few days every 1 to 2 month, so we get to play L4DII/CS/Warcraft in our own office. When we are bored of the games we'd just watch all the latest HD movie that's available on our server. When the supervisors/CEO goes on business trip, we just become our own boss. Work was actually something I look forward to everyday :D
