This classic film seems to be very overlooked and whilst it falls into the gangster genre has a very different feel to it. I wondered if anyone remembered it and if they liked it as much as I did?

I really love this film. I love the scenes with Walken, "The man with the plan". I agree that it's very much over looked. Think I might dig it out now and have another watch.
 
Is that the one with Steve Buscemi as the hitman? I remember it being good but haven't seen it in ages. Might stick it on my rental list.
 
yes, it is a good film.I did not know what to expect when it came on TV so I watched it and enjoyed it a lot.A strong cast makes it work really well. after watching it you can shout ''Buckwheat' to your co workers whenever they upset you :)

You may also remember the catch phrases "boat drinks" and "buckwheats" :D

I loved this movie, particularly the interaction between Jimmy the Saint and the woman he falls in love with knowing that he is going to die soon. I after I posted this yesterday I managed to pick up a copy from Music Zone for £8, a pretty good deal considering HMV wanted £17 :)

Will watch it again tonight.

I haven't seen this in ages. I still remember the scene where someone was shot in backside as it would cause a slow and painful death. Also had Christopher Lloyd in it.

Thats a 'Buckwheats' killing designed to inflict a painful death in retailiation for faliure I believe, very nasty

great film, but none of my mates have heard of it, i saw it a while back on c4 at around 3 in the mornin, was bored an switched on tv, loved the film

If you havent seen it check out 'smoke', at the end, well i wont spoil it. But at the end there's a long and brilliant scene where innocent when you dream plays in full (silence, just innocent when you dream playing).
Maybe one of the best film endings i've ever seen (Big Waits fan though tbf).

Man I love the Walken in this film. There's just so many good quotes, hundreds!.
