Glasgow is sound, there's hardly any hassle kicks off in the city center. As has already been said, the City gets a bad rep for no real reason.

I think he may mean like in the films, when someone avoids a gunshot or something to the chest because of the old 'coin my grandad gave me when I was a child that I wear just over my heart' that saves them
