I'm going to hold my hands up and show complete ignorance of the north here. I have the chance to go up to Grantham for a conference early December and I might stretch the trip out for a few days and see the place a bit. I just had a look on the map and I think I'll be driving there.

What's good to do there? Not looking for nightclubs or anything, just places to eat and things to do.

well, there's not much in Grantham itself, but it's not too bad.

There is a bowling alley there. Belton house is close by, they filmed part of Pride & Prejudice there, very nice house but not sure if it's still open. Belton woods hotel is near there too which does outdoor activities. and Ancaster Karting is around 10 mins away from Grantham if you want karting, bowling, and paintball/airsoft. Lots of places to go horse ridig too if you want.

I can't really help on what to do, however I can tell you what NOT to do.

A girl called Becky, about 5"3 with red/brown hair. Most unsatisfying **** I've ever had!

Avoid at all costs.

My lass is from grantham so it isn't at all to bad...

It is a rather small town. Most people seem to goto Nottingham.

When I was on work placement at Uni, I used to share a car each week with a bloke to Grantham where he lived, then I'd get the train to Nottingham to spend the weekend with the Mrs.

Bloody miserable place. Reminded me of Wigan for it's urban decay qualities.

After my Parents divorced both my Dad and my Grandparents moved to Grantham so I'm forced to spend the occasional weekend in there. It quite honestly is the dullest place I have ever been too. I think there's something in the water up there too as I ALWAYS get the screaming squirts when I'm there. Horrible place! Makes Hemel Hempstead look like Paris.

My Dad and Grandparents love it though! I don't know why...
