Things you dont mind paying extra for

Bread,
Toothpaste,
Toilet roll,
Meat,
And the majority of tinned food so things like beans and soup (Heinz!!).

As for everything else, it entirely depends. :o

Ah! A man who appreciates a quality toilet roll... I'm a 3-ply fan myself.

Couldn't possibly go back to that nasty old 2-ply stuff that ones fingers always went through.

shell diesel over the supposedly the same supermarket variants

i dunno if its my imagination but the taxi runs better on shell diesel than any other

I don't buy any cheap tat or "value" brands in supermarkets, or anywhere for that matter. Ultimately its counter-productive and more expensive in the long run.

Not even basics like peas, tinned tomatoes and the such? Unless you're making a primarily tomato based dish then I struggle to see the point buying the fancy tinned tomatoes over own brand.

For someone who has 'Live for today - tomorrow may never come' as their sig that sounds a bit weak if you don't mind me saying?

If you're living for the day, then surely you'd want your experiences to be as good as they possibly can be as it may be the last time you get them. Therefore, you'd be happy to pay to ensure such. Edit - in light of Simulatorman's response, I may have got the wrong end of the stick 'ere.
