The graphics are poor, so much so that I cannot make out enemies very well on MoH/BC2 hehe but it has a bit of charm, I shove DVD in lay on bed and play, all on a 42" and full 5.1 setup.

The sound on these games is amazing!

I have grown tired off the PC, I'm in an Arma 2 clan and have found the games really dull and teamspeak isn't fun anymore... I load up steam and look at the sales and their is nothing that interests me.

How many have given up PC gaming? Any going back to PC gaming? If so, why..

Gave up many years ago i only now and then play 1.6 on PC as im a more casual fun event type clan.

Reason being i just found lack of unique games on pc annoying was just constant ports and imo still is. + Im lazy and i far enjoy laying on bed sticking game in the ps3 or 360 and just play it, no installs far more comfy and with my surround set up more immserive imo.

do light gaming on my laptop but mainly a console gamer.

Really only use my Laptop for stuff like bf and wow.

I've given up in the sense that if a game is on both I will nearly always pick console. Still have a 360 for the odd exclusive like Football Manager though :)

i've been partially converted, love my ps3 for simplicity compatibility etc, throw in a disc and go!
i still have my laptop for playing sims like Richard Burns Rally, rfactor and silly little puzzle games, music and such.
and still having trouble converting to playing fps games with a pad, just dont have the accuracy/control as i did with M/K.
but i just cant afford a powerful rig to keep up with current games, my old hardware is just too out dated to make it worthwile upgrading, well wont be able to afford one until next autumn at least.
i think i've found a happy medium for the time being.

PC gaming is still my main source of fun - such a rich library of games, longevity, community, indie releases etc.

Mind you I have a PS3 and Xbox/Kinect now as well but no way in hell do I see those ever being more than a casual thing (even though I have the main exclusives for these consoles ready to play through).

Echos my sentiments exactly.

yes the graphics are not as good, but the playing experience is far, far better.

Even despite its P2P foils, playing black ops with a group of mates on the counch on my 40 " HD telly with 5.1 surround beats being sat upstairs on my desk on the computer.

I have a PS3 XBOX360 and PC, I am not Bias.
I enjoy all 3 platforms for what they are worth.

Any-one that says they are leaving PC gaming to console gaming only are depriving themselves of w**king

If you can, get some decent speakers hooked up to your PC, sound makes more of a difference than most people realise.... ;)

What amazing games have I missed on the PC? What amazing games are coming in 2011?

Just so much easier to kick back turn on the xbox/playstation and enjoy a good game, rather then hunched over a desk playing whatever on the pc.

Hunched over a desk? I have my feet up and laying back in my leather chair, quite comfy actually, and yes i have a setup where i can play games like this, my lazy man setup.

I've actually wen't the oppsoite way from everyone else. I started out playing casual games on the PS3 and now switched to playing them on the PC. I've always had a powerful enough PC to play games on but never bothered as always bought titles for the PS3. However after buying myself a wireless 360 controller for the pc, hooking up my home cinema system seperates to my pc to make it true HD 5.1 I honestly couldn't go back to the PS3 for anything intense. I still use it for Tekken with friends and the like but things like black ops etc, it has to be the pc. A few people are mentioning there 5.1 setup on the ps3, PC's can have good sound also. Even better infact.

I now only game on the xbox these days. I just got fed up with installs, constant patches, rubbish ports, the constant upgrades needed to play the latest games at a decent quality.

Now it's just, put disc in, lay back on bed with a drink.... play game! I don't even have to get up to turn the thing off and on :p

Lazyness is what's done it, there's too much effort involved with pc gaming.

+1 to this.

I get so tired of the whole "hunched over a desk" perception of PC gaming.

I have a large comfy chair I slouch in, easily as comfy as my sofa. I have a large desk with plenty of room to move and a 24" monitor a few inches from my face which I personally find more immersive than sitting 6 feet away from my 42" TV. Extremely comfortable. Also the added bonus that I don't need to fight for the TV with my wife :D. But hell if the TV experience is what you are after, whats stopping hooking your PC up to that? And surround sound, well it's available for PC to so hardly some kind of console trump card.

Each to their own and all that. I can see the merits of console gaming, but the same tired old arguments such as above are really outdated and get on my nerves.

I've always been a computer gamer really, from Amstrad CPC464, to Atari ST to PC. While I was in college I mainly gamed on consoles, something I kind of regret as while I have played most great PC games that were released at the time, and they were still great, I missed that wow factor of playing them when brand new and fresh.

I have a 360 and PS3, and neither of them get much of a look in anymore. Got pretty tired of the same old sequels and "me too" games. I use Xbox Live arcade quite a lot as it has some interesting stuff, but I just find the PC more diverse and interesting. It is a huge back catalog of stunning classic games, and with platforms like Steam and GoG I find having to actually buy physical copies of games a bit of a pain in the ass now.

I also love my racing sims, and for me personally there is nothing on console that competes with the likes of iRacing and Richard Burns Rally.

And then you have the controls. Keyboard and mouse all the way for FPS. I can play with a pad no problems, but it's just not the same. Flight sticks for flight/space sims, wheels for racers. Digital sticks and pads of emulators. There is the ideal control method for any type of game.

Ah, emulators. I have nearly the complete history of consoles from the Atari 2600 to the PSOne at the touch of an icon.

So yeah, consoles are good and all. But simply cannot compete with the diversity the PC provides.

I got an AV Reciever in my room so already have my PC hooked up to my 5.1 and a HDMI to my TV. The trouble is how can you play with a pad when everyone else is using KB+M. Your just going to get owned and frustrated.

Also the PC seems to bever get the games anymore.

I gave up PC gaming 3 years ago. The only game I now play on PC is Bejeweled Blitz on Facebook (715K is my high score btw).

On the plus side, all my PC hardware is now 3 to 4 years old, so I've had my moneys worth from it; and there are no planned upgrades until it breaks. My 1.8Ghz Core2 duo/2GB RAM/8800GT is a more than capable web surfing tool.

The only games I miss playing on PC, are real time strategies. Rome Total war was the last one I played properly, and I would like to play the later ones, but I can't be bothered with it all.

I'm not saying I'll never go back, because I might. I just can't see at the moment, what would make me want to.
