Hunched over a desk? I have my feet up and laying back in my leather chair, quite comfy actually, and yes i have a setup where i can play games like this, my lazy man setup.
+1 to this.
I get so tired of the whole "hunched over a desk" perception of PC gaming.
I have a large comfy chair I slouch in, easily as comfy as my sofa. I have a large desk with plenty of room to move and a 24" monitor a few inches from my face which I personally find more immersive than sitting 6 feet away from my 42" TV. Extremely comfortable. Also the added bonus that I don't need to fight for the TV with my wife

. But hell if the TV experience is what you are after, whats stopping hooking your PC up to that? And surround sound, well it's available for PC to so hardly some kind of console trump card.
Each to their own and all that. I can see the merits of console gaming, but the same tired old arguments such as above are really outdated and get on my nerves.
I've always been a computer gamer really, from Amstrad CPC464, to Atari ST to PC. While I was in college I mainly gamed on consoles, something I kind of regret as while I have played most great PC games that were released at the time, and they were still great, I missed that wow factor of playing them when brand new and fresh.
I have a 360 and PS3, and neither of them get much of a look in anymore. Got pretty tired of the same old sequels and "me too" games. I use Xbox Live arcade quite a lot as it has some interesting stuff, but I just find the PC more diverse and interesting. It is a huge back catalog of stunning classic games, and with platforms like Steam and GoG I find having to actually buy physical copies of games a bit of a pain in the ass now.
I also love my racing sims, and for me personally there is nothing on console that competes with the likes of iRacing and Richard Burns Rally.
And then you have the controls. Keyboard and mouse all the way for FPS. I can play with a pad no problems, but it's just not the same. Flight sticks for flight/space sims, wheels for racers. Digital sticks and pads of emulators. There is the ideal control method for any type of game.
Ah, emulators. I have nearly the complete history of consoles from the Atari 2600 to the PSOne at the touch of an icon.
So yeah, consoles are good and all. But simply cannot compete with the diversity the PC provides.
