my current machine just doesn't cut it anymore, can hardly do much on it so looking to upgrade with enfesis on new and upcoming DX10 game's within mind. or should i just wait until actual game's like crysis come out and then build a new one
current spec
intel pentium p3 533 mhz
320mb ram
navidia geforce4 mx 440

i have keyboard, speaker's and mouse
budget will be a maximum off 1.5k
must included navidia geforce 8800gtx or should wait for ati dx10 card to come out? and good quality moniter

thank's for reading and any sujjestion's/tip's/ link's would be greatly appreaciated

hmm thought i would at least get one response. rough idea below

PC case ...not sure any sujjection's?
MOTHERBOARD.....not sure asus or gigabyte
CPU either intel core duo 2 E6700 or cheaper e6400 or quad QX6700
700w psu should be enough for gtx?
GPU..Navidia geforce 8800gtx or wait for Ati R600?
Corsair 2gb 667 ram
Raptor/seagate 100-200gb sata hard drive's
Moniter no idea...any sujjestion's?
16x dvd drive
Sound card hmm not sure soundblaster x.fi?

Case: Akasa Eclipse 62
Motherboard: 650Sli or P5B-E or DS3/4
CPU: Either E4300 and overclock or E6600
PSU: Corsair or Seasonic 500W to 600W
GPU: BFG 8800GTX
RAM: Any 2GB PC6400 DDR2 kit. I like the OCZ myself, but go micron chips for overclocking the RAM
HD: Raptor X for Boot, Hitachi or Seagate SATA2 for boot/storage
Monitor:No idea, sorry.
Sound: Keep the onboard stuff, its high definition now.
CPU HSF: Sythe Ninja or tuniq tower

ty melbourne for posting
the akasa case will this have enough room for 8800gtx and perhap's dual card's? looking at pic not most attractive of case's :p this i like the other one erm... mirage think it called
is there any disadvantge's with going for lower clocked duo, i know i can overclock but say at stock clock's would i see i drop in performance with 6400/6600 compared to 6700?

if i wanted to change to sli later wouldn't it be better to get more higher spec psu?

do these motherboard support dual gpu's and will they both need pci-e x16 or only one slot with x16?
sorry about the noob question's relatively new to upgrading comp and this would be my first attempt at it..

thank's zia
