Right I got a highly priced mouse off of a well know auction site (sorry).

I paid £25 for a brand new sidewinder x8.

Thing is he had postage options: economy £1, standard 1st class £2, next day £5.
I paid next day delivery

he later informed me that he did not have next day its was a mistake he would refund postage costs after positive feedback as thats when payment is unlocked (i know hes under 100 feedback and that is true)

If i leave positive after delivery he wont need to refund though

He then got back to me saying he had another x8 for 25 with free postage do i know anyone that would buy.

I know this dude has + feedback of 21 100% for stuff costing more his last sale was £190 and the buyer left glowing feedback.

What do i do, i know I would buy another at this price for backup, do I?

Don't buy the second one off him- the free postage is a very small saving vs economy, so you're better off leaving it till you know you can trust him.

Wait for it to be delivered and leave positive feedback, leave a low rating for delivery times if you like. The worst thing that can happen is that you're a couple of quid down because he didn't refund the postage- if so, let ebay know, but you haven't lost too much. Obviously, don't leave feedback until it arrives, and if it doesn't arrive, you know what to do.

As a last comment, this is why you buy from trusted sites like overclockers :)

I know but Im not in the MM yet, A have over 1000 sales 100% on *******I didnt know forums (any forum had a MM).

I bought my full water cooling setup from OcUK about a year before I joined the forum, I am a highly repped member of a USA forum as I didn't know any forum in the UK that was as busy (thank you OcUk)

******* has been my life blood for used parts (I buy weekly and sell daily)
couldn't scrimp on water cooling and bought from OcUK, I floated about the forums reading and found a forum as good as the one I am/was a member of.

I do really want the good price on the X8 but for the 1st time I dont know.

I was of course referring to buying it new, I didn't know you meant used parts :). Of course, any reference to an outside site- whether you change its name slightly or not- is against the rules, so of course you would want to edit that kind of thing out of your post, if you were to do such a thing.

As per the X8, pass up on the deal for now. Other good deals will come along- ones you're not as likely to get scammed on.

It's a great price for one so be happy. Paying again to have a spare one sitting about doing nothing kinda defeats the point, no? :) It's not like it's an unreliable mouse. Best damn mouse in the world actually - absolutely fantastic taste :) :)

Funny really, I had a feeling what mouse you used before I checked your sig :)

Out of interest as someone who's always stuck with included-with-system mice, what's the difference like?

I felt the speedlink styx was a great mouse, got me a mx518 and found out what a great mouse was, my brother uses a x8 and I fell in love, for my hand its the right mouse.
I have had 3 mx518's in 2 years, I game in a league and my mouse gets abuse.

I felt like I needed a spare even with this mouse.

I now am looking at a x6 keyboard as I love my brothers mouse so much my g11 is getting dated.

I know you were not meaning me but thought I would stand up for Liampope IF it did come with his system, lucky him.

SORRY EDIT DUH< IM A FOOL

No no no - I didn't just say that cos I've got one. Honest :)

I quite lurve it. Always just had a cheap thing - in fact I've moved to my X8 from my trusty MS ball mouse!! Never got on with cheap opticals, so always went back to my ball mouse - just gotta keep those rollers clean :). X8 is leagues above even my ball mouse with freshly cleaned ball and rollers :) Can't believe it's wireless either - again I've only got crap wireless to compare it to. So I can't say how it compares to a high end wired laser mouse, for example, and I'm not a hugely hardcore gamer, though I do love my FPS, so I'm not the best person to comment on minute nuances of response/lag, but to me it's perfect and totally lag free. Found it felt pretty huge initially compared to my old mouse (even with my big hands) and my thumb didn't initially want to reach the thumb buttons. But I've gotten used to it now and my grip has adapted fine. The vertical thumb buttons are fantastic.

EDIT: Oh and I forgot to mention the awesomeness of the magnetic charging cable. I love the way you can leave the magnetic connector sitting just out of your normal mouse area, then if the battery warning light comes on (which takes like a week anyway) you can just pick up the cable in half a second mid-game and your charging wired. Sweeeeeeet.

One of the selling point to me, great feature.
