Think I've just ******** a laptop up

Hi all,

I've installed a new fan on my laptop and I think I've buggered it up now.

Upon reassembly I've accidentally got a cable caught which plugs into the mainboard from the screen... it's a very small white plug thing.

As I constantly use my monitor from the VGA connection will it mean that I'll be okay?

The external VGA connector should work as normal.

What's damaged, the cable or the motherboard connector? If it's just the cable it can probably be replaced.
