Is it knackered or something? I remember it being rather cheap :p

Don't think so, it's just crap.

I pick up the MGF on Sunday so I might use that as my runaround and flog the Mondy yet.

I'm confused, was it a sliproad type affair to come off the dual cabbageway or a turnoff if you know what I mean? If it was a sliproad, I don't get how the car would not turn onto it, surely it couldn't understeer that much

Anyway, regardless, chalk it up as experience, it's only metal at the end of the day & as long as no-one was injured that's the main thing :)

It was a turn off:

2000 Mondeo Zetec 2.0L?

Yup. I've crashed into a lampost, another car, some rocks and *ahem* some other thing but fortunately haven't written it off (touch wood), just some cosmetic damage and a good excuse to get RSAP kit. Gutted for you mate :(

How fast were you going? Did you aquaplane or something?

Is it shod with Ditchfinders from the Happy Chicken Rubber Company?

I think it's just due to the hugely powerful engine that Ford fitted to the Mondeo, the suspension just can't cope with all the power.

ROFL

Grrrr - I hate it when I see that. makes the cars look totally poo.

No I did not.

Am getting a new bumper painted and fitted :)

Ah, but did you cover up the holes and cracks with silver gaffer tape?

When I got the Mondeo I had to sign an agreement to say that I'd use silver gaffer tape to hide any bumper damage. There was also a clause about always having at least 1 packet of Worthers originals in the glovebox but I had my lawyers look at it and apparently it wasn't legally binding.

the MG will understeer with the best of them if you turn in with too much speed on esp in the wet
