think my car is dieing COme SEE

Looks very much like a blown head gasket .
But if you do lots of short trips and dont service the car often it could just be a little mayonaise from condensation .

Persil

I dont recognise the parts showing there but its just oil with water in it, its not a death certificate quite yet. Ive seen that in cars before that were fine

It's a picture of the air filter housing and the top of the throttle body. The Mayo is almost certainly comming from a crank case breather that is routed into the air filter housing. Hot oil fumes meets cool air = condensation. It could perhaps be the head gasket on it's way out, but it's unlikely if you tend to do short journeys in the car. Check the inside of the cam cover (just look at the bottom of the oil cap ) to see how bad it is.

easy to get under the cam cover. But I would suggest following a haynes manual for torque settings to put it back on.
and I would replace the cam cover gasket at the same time.

if you have got a mate that has done a few beofre certainly help out and learn from it.
I got bored of playing with engines in the end. costs too much money.
my golf was a nightmare, fast as sin but always something wrong with it.

is it loosing water?
is the engine underperforming?

if not then leave it. take it for a good run and dont worry about it.

how do i get in side the cam cover? is it an easy job???

As I said, just look at the bottom of the oil cap first, rather than removing cam cover. You can also stick you finger down the hole and see if there is much goop built up...
