Think my Dynax 5D has a bent pin

For some reason, it takes my camera about 5 seconds to actually read a card that is inserted into the CF slot. It also takes a bit for a RAW file to be written on it.

Imagine my horror when I took out the CF card, and spotted a deformed hole in my Sandisk card as well as a pin that seems to be bent twice and placing itself right next to pin number 12.

I cannot explain this and I don't know how long it has been like that, but I'm sure it never was this 'laggy'. My only reasoning is I may have been a bit rough or rushed putting in the CF card which may have bent this pin.

The most annoying thing is, I am going to have to get it looked at and may not be able to afford the repair costs. I doubt I can do it myself, the camera is rife with tiny little cross haired screw drivers which would burr really really easily (as I found out when I was taking apart my faulty Minolta 7000) so now I cannot get the bottom panel off that.

I can take pictures with the thing..but that pin may result in a corrupted memory card soon enough.

:(

Edit: And the most annoying thing is, I am doing a photography job for someone in two months! :(

if you shine a light in can you see the offending pin? maybe get a small pair of tweezers and tweak it back into place?

When there was daylight (a little dark now!) I saw the offending pin. I can still kind of see it in this nasty artificial flourescent light. Unfortunately, I could only find a rather chunky pair of tweezers, they fit into the little slot, but I might mash up all the other pins in using it :(
