Think my ipod is dead

I got a 30gb ipod i chared it up put some songs on it as i had deleted all my old ones off it disconnected it used it for a bit then it turned off then i went to turn it back on and it wont come on. I did drop it on some carpet yesterday although i think it was ok .
Anyone else think its dead ?

Have you tried resetting it?

Hold the centre button and menu button down until the apple logo comes up - then see if you still have problems.... but your songs will most likely not reappear!

I had a similar problem once actually - where I thought the songs were deleted although when I connected it to the PC it showed it as being full up - just no songs showed up on itunes. I reset it and put the songs back and it was fine....

so maybe your just having some bad luck there!
