Think my motherboard is dead - HELP

Well i was changing some of the settings in my motherboard bios and went to save the changes and it completely froze and did nothing for 10 mins. I then switched off my comp and now it wont even post, with no beep to tell me it is starting up. What i reckon has happened is the bios has corrupted itself? Is there a way to fix this on the asus striker (non extreme version), or is it going to mean an RMA?

Have you cleared/reset the CMOS or tried removing the motherboards battery for a few minutes?

I have tried resetting the bios, havent removed the battery. What would remomving the battery do over resetting the bios, just curious?
