Think my sound port has broke :/

So i just tried plugging speakers and headphones into my PC, but nothing coming out. Do these ports just break? I've got a shuttle where the audio port is at the front under the little bit that folds down.

If you previously had a working connection that's gone bad, you might be out of luck. Otherwise, make sure you have the right drivers installed, that your s/c is detected in device manager, that the sound control panel allows you to configure it, and finally, that nothing is muted in the volume control. hth
