Think this goes in here (audio problem)

The two yellow icons will be linked to the audio.
Delete both.
Disable the UAA driver in device manager>system devices.
Then uninstall the UAA.
Uninstall the drivers for the sound onboard and the sound on video.
Restart but don't use any drivers other than what Windows detects.
Then install the Realtek full release drivers from here - http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsCheck.aspx?Langid=1&PFid=24&Level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3

This should install UAA and the onboard sound drivers. Install the ATI sound drivers afterwards.

done all that apart from disable the UAA driver in properties, as it isnt there, well unless it has another name.
Still no worky. gonna try it all over again for the second time.

The UAA thing should be in device manager, disable it from there, I had a similar problem with that.

Thanks everyone, never managed to sort it out, so went and bought OEM vista for him, installed that and no such problems, sound worked straight away.
Just couldn't afford to waste anymore hours on it as I am negleting my own work doing this as I have not charged him to do it as he is so tight with money.
