Thinking about an Iphone

I'm thinking about treating my self to an American 8gb iphone from a well known auction site for Xmas.

I was wondering what are the big features that i will miss (i don't use 3g).

Also will it have 1 year world wide warrenty so if it breaks i can flash it to an unhacked firmware and get it fixed in the apple store?

Oh and if i took it to the apple store and they fixed it wouldn't they put on the latest official firmware thus disabling me from using the phone?

Hmmm thats cool, mms i don't use. I don't forward sms's either, 3g i wont use, video recording WTF apple smart moves....
Bluetooth hopefully a firmware hack will happen to enable it.

Yes, you are under no obligation to sign up to a contract in-store.

If anything, Apple is encouraging people to buy and take it home to sign up on iTunes.

That's how so many people are buying them.. because they just hack them (and don't have to worry about a contract).

Amazing so i can just walk into an O2 store and ask for an iPhone and if they try to force a contract on me i can just say ill get the contract another time?
